If you are coming to the Courthouse because you are a victim or witness in a criminal court case, or to meet with the staff of the Victim-Witness Assistance Program or the District Attorney’s Office, you may park for free in the Chatham County garage located just past the Courthouse on the same side of the street. Turn left into the garage and, if space is available, park on the 4th, 5th or 6th floors. Bring the ticket you received upon entering the garage to the Victim-Witness staff so your ticket can be stamped and the fee will be waived. Victim-Witness can only authorize payment for the Chatham County garage. Victims and witnesses with physical limitations may call Victim-Witness to make special arrangements.
If the Chatham County garage is full, the City has a parking garage across the street from the Courthouse. Victim-Witness cannot provide free parking at this garage. The cost is $1.00 per hour, with a daily maximum of $10.00. The Civic Center parking lot is also an option when it’s not reserved for major events. Fees are posted at the entrance on Liberty Street.
