Superior Court Division

Attorneys assigned to Superior Court handle the prosecution of felony cases on behalf of the State of Georgia.  The cases range from murder, armed robbery, kidnapping, trafficking in controlled substances, possession of controlled substances to burglary and theft.

The Superior court team consists of the following assistant district attorneys:

Chief Assistant District Greg McConnell. His duties include supervising the Superior Court assistant district attorneys, the Counter Narcotics attorneys, and the Child Support attorneys.  The Superior Court team also handles expungements, open record requests, and Grand Jury.

Twelve assistant district attorneys are assigned to the six judges of Superior Court.  In 2008, these experienced prosecutors received, indicted, tried, and/or disposed of over two thousand cases.

Two Superior Court assistant district attorneys are assigned to the Counter Narcotics Team.  They are responsible for prosecuting high level drug dealers, repeat offenders and highly complicated drug cases such as trafficking in controlled substances. They also assist drug agents in the preparation of legal documents such as search warrants and wire taps.

Two assistant district attorneys are assigned to the Office of Child Support Services.  These attorneys help children by enforcing parental responsibility to pay financial support.
