Criminal Investigation Bureau  

The Criminal Investigation Bureau is responsible for:

  • Reviewing and investigating cases referred to the District Attorney’s Office for prosecution

     
  • Completing investigative reports

     
  • Locating and interviewing victims and witnesses

     
  • Locating and transporting witnesses and physical evidence for trials

     
  • Testifying in court proceedings and serving legal documents, such as court subpoenas and warrants
     

The bureau is led by chief criminal investigator John S. Strickland, and includes 12 investigators, all of whom are dedicated sworn law enforcement professionals with extensive experience and training, as well as an administrative support staff member. Investigators support the District Attorney’s Office through four investigative divisions:

  • Child Support
     
  • Special Unit
    • Early Intervention Program
    • Juvenile Court Services
       
  • State Court
     
  • Superior Court
